The TASER C2 is a self-defense electronic control device. Electronic Control Devices (ECDs) use propelled wires or direct contact to conduct energy to affect the sensory and motor functions of the nervous system. The TASER C2 uses a replaceable cartridge, containing compressed nitrogen, to deploy two small probes that are attached to the TASER C2 by insulated conductive wires with a maximum length of 4.5 meters. The TASER C2 transmits electrical pulses along the wires and into the body affecting the sensory and motor functions of the peripheral nervous system. The energy can penetrate up to two cumulative inches of clothing.

    Neuromuscular Incapacitation (NMI)
    The key technology to disable even the most aggressive subjects, NMI temporarily overrides the command and control systems of the body to impair muscular control.
    Shaped PulseTM Technology
    A sophisticated pulse wave that utilizes a high voltage leading edge to penetrate barriers such as clothing around the body followed by a lower voltage stimulation pulse to cause neuromuscular incapacitation.
    C2 Cartridge
    A replaceable module that allows for the engagement of targets at ranges up to 15 feet (4.5 meters). Integrates a nitrogen propulsion system, high voltage insulated TASER wire, bi-metal probes, and AFID serialization optimized for the TASER C2.
    Anti-Felon Identification (AFID)
    A system to deter misuse through enhanced accountability, AFID includes bar-coded serialization of each cartridge and disperses confetti-like ID tags upon activation.
    Laser Integration
    TASER microprocessor controls laser illumination synchronous with safety switch operation.
    Lithium Power Magazine (LPM)
    Integrated power source with lithium battery cells and solid state memory module for tracking power consumption, power levels remaining, and allows for software updates to be distributed via battery replacement.
    CheckLokTM
    Next generation background check technology ensures full compliance with user identification and screening. Ships in a locked state, can only be unlocked with activation code received upon successful registration and background check approval.

    TASER devices can stop threats from up to 15 ft. (4.5 m). Or, you can use the TASER device as a contact stun device - a powerful backup capability.     Easy To Use
    TASER technology has been available to citizens concerned with self-defense for over a decade. Unlike conventional weapons, TASER devices are effective with a hit anywhere on the body. To be effective for self-defense, bullets risk more lethal consequences, striking the head or vital organs. Similarly, chemical or pepper sprays must hit an assailant in the face - a much less reliable alternative in fast moving confrontations. And, in a windy environment, sprays can be blown back onto the user.

    Legal To Carry In Most States
    TASER devices are not considered firearms by the government. They can be legally carried (concealed or open) without permit required in 43 states. Prohibited citizen use in DC, HI, MA, MI, NJ, NY, RI, WI, certain cities and counties. CT and IL are legal with restrictions.     Accordingly, we have developed an advanced TASER device tracking program called AFID (Anti-Felon Identification). Our AFID program enforces accountability for each use of the TASER device and has worked successfully for over a decade with citizen sales.

    Each TASER Cartridge sold for use with the TASER device has a unique serial number. This serial number is printed in a bar code format on the back of each TASER Cartridge. At the time the probes are packed into each TASER Cartridge, approximately 20-30 pieces of film printed with the serial number of that TASER Cartridge are loaded behind them. When the TASER C2 is deployed, these AFID tags are dispersed at the scene. The large number of AFIDS and their small size makes it impractical to clean up. When police are called to investig these tags and contact TASER International for a complete trace on the serial number.

    All shipments from TASER International are entered into our shipment tracking system we know where every TASER Cartridge we ship goes.

    The AFID program was developed and implemented by TASER International at our own cost. It is not required by law; we think it's the right thing to do.

    No other weapon in the world - guns, knives, chemical and pepper sprays, electronic defense units, or batons - can be traced from evidence at the scene of the crime to the registration of the user. It all comes back to responsibility.
