A low energy light bulb that you can use as a torch when the power goes off?
It’s the Magic Bulb! The bulb which has a 90% energy saving capacity over
traditional light bulbs and 70% over compact fluorescent bulbs, doesn’t need a
charger – you simply screw it into a standard light bulb socket to recharge the
battery.
No pun intended, but here is a really bright idea. Take an LED bulb with
an extendable neck, add a rechargeable battery and you have a very useful
dual-purpose light source.
The Magic Bulb company has created this new light bulb called the
Rechargeable LED Lightglobe, and it is just as useful connected to a lamp as it
is on its own. Using only 4 Watts of energy, the device generates as much light
as a standard 50 Watt bulb. With the built-in battery. the LED light can
function for up to 3 hours without an external power source, meaning if the
power goes out in your home the lights will remain on. As soon as the power
returns, the battery gets charged.
In addition, if you are
ever in an emergency and cannot find a flashlight nearby, you can remove the
LED Lightglobe from a lamp, extend the neck and it instantly becomes a
portable torch!
